Each year the administration applies the funds we raise to hire the best combination of part-time or full-time teachers based on the schedule demands each year.
The 2022-23 campaign was able to raise enough funds to support the hiring of one Full-time English teacher and a Part-Time business teacher (the most popular elective at Walton) to reduce class sizes for the 2023-24 school year.
Remember, smaller class sizes have a direct correlation with the following:
- student achievement – resulting in higher GPA and more scholarship opportunities
- student/teacher relationships
- improved skill sets
- lower tutoring expenses
- student preparation for college
Reducing class sizes has increased the effectiveness and frequency of writing assignments, classroom discussions, oral presentations, and science labs.
