As part of the Foundation’s goal last year to raise funds for housewarming items for our new building, a new bike rack has been installed and is ready for students to bike to school! The new bike rack may be found along the back bus loop road, adjacent to the McLeod Garden outside the dining hall. Biking to school is a wonderful way to get exercise, to eliminate the bus/car pool commute and to enjoy the spring weather.
On Saturday, March 13th, 2021, forty volunteers joined forces on Walton’s Campus to provide a spring cleanup to the front entrance of the school and the Foundation Gardens. With volunteers from Walton’s Green Team, a newly developed club under the Foundation that focuses on campus clean up at Walton and her feeder schools, SGA, Walton Ambassadors, Student Leadership Council, Science National Honor Society, Honor Society and other student organizations, over 220 bags of mulch were spread, countless weeds pulled, and color added to flower beds. The Foundation is grateful for the helping hands that came out to help!
Mrs. Foxhall has been teaching for 10 years. She now teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry at Walton, but taught Honors Algebra 2, AP Statistics, and Geometry at South Forsyth High School, Grovetown High School, and Jackson Prep. She enjoys when her students ask questions and show interest in the subject. She chose to become a teacher because her mom was a teacher and her pre-calc teacher Mrs. Smith inspired her by explaining things so simply that it made math fun and easy. In her free time she likes playing with her two year old son and cooking.
