We Need You!
The Foundation is in need of volunteers in the following areas:
- Auction – Request auction items from Walton staff and set up online auction via Auctria software.
- Fundraising – Create brochures and mailings.
- Study Skills Seminars – Coordinate and supervise the Study Skills Seminars (not teach them).
- Social Media – Create graphics via Canva Pro and write/schedule social media posts via Loomly.
- Website – Update our WordPress website hosted by WPEngine.
Training will be provided, so while experience is a plus, it is not required. Come join a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers trying to make a difference!
Teacher Spotlight: Betsy Alpert
Mrs. Alpert is a newer member of our counseling department. She joined Walton last year. She has worked at several schools in the Atlanta area including Kennesaw Mountain High School, McIntosh High School, Marietta High School, Emory and UGA.
Mrs. Alpert has worked in education for 20 years. She has also been a Spanish teacher and worked in Instructional Technology. Her favorite part of being a school counselor is watching her students graduate and helping them plan their futures. She finds her job very rewarding and loves helping her students.
Besides being a HUGE soccer fan who played for 13 years including in Spain when she was in college, Ms. Alpert also enjoys binge-watching TV series, movies, reading, anything outdoors, sports (Go Dawgs!), traveling, playing board games, and spending time with her daughters, husband and dog.

CCYA Collection Day Changed to Sept 10th
The date of the CCYA Collection Day has been changed to the first football game on Sept 10th at the front of Raider Valley. It is no longer going to be held on Aug 15th.
Join the Walton Touchdown Club and the Student Leadership Council in collecting needed items for the Cobb Center for Children and Young Adults (CCYA.) CCYA has a wide range of needs: from household supplies to pantry items which makes it easy for us all to chip in to help this wonderful organization in our own community. The items can be dropped off on Sept 10th at the football game in front of Raider Valley. Students will be in front of the stadium to take your donations.
